Business Intelligence Analyst

Rapid7 is looking for a highly motivated business intelligence analyst to drive insight for key business stakeholders, across our internal functional areas. This role will be accountable for providing accurate, timely and high-impact data and BI products  to executives, operating groups and management teams with.  Working in tandem with our operations teams, you’ll provide business intelligence products and solutions to help enhance decision making and increase operational efficiency.

About the Team

The Rapid7 Business Intelligence Team serves as the company’s analytic center of excellence, translating data into actionable insights for senior leadership and business partners, developing and refining new analyses in response to business needs, and bringing expertise on emerging trends in data analytics. The team core tenets focus around driving analytic insight, data modeling, data literacy and advanced analytics.

About the Role

The Business Intelligence Analyst role will serve as a SME in Rapid7’s data. This role will collaborate with teams across the company to implement and scale a suite of BI products  , while providing recommendations on best practices for data modeling and analysis. You will help deliver  high-quality accessible data to our Rapid7 stakeholders using our modern data stack and help enable other Rapid7 analysts to do the same. You bring a mix of technical expertise, business acumen, and an ability to build strong partnerships across different functional areas.

In this role, you will:

• Collaborate with business partners to collect requirements and implement solutions for scalable business intelligence tools and datasets that support both strategic and operational decision-making 

• Support maintenance and continuous improvement of a suite of BI products across Tableau and Snowflake to maintain a high quality of data, consistent definition and implementation of KPIs, and tooling that supports business use-cases

• Develop in-depth understanding of various underlying data, data structures, and business processes  to provide clear data visualizations and analysis

• Assist with finalizing data models and collating reporting to support quarterly  financial reporting on Annualized Run Rate, Bookings, and Customers

• Assists with ongoing systems and process improvement initiatives to assure efficient data capture, quality and performance of reporting tools

The skills you’ll bring include:

• 4+ years working on business intelligence, data engineering, or analytics teams with a track record of delivering impactful high-quality datasets and reporting

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Business, Economics, or related discipline

• Proficiency in complex SQL (Snowflake preferred)

• Proven ability to create reporting and analytics within BI Tools such as Tableau, Qlik, MSFT Power BI

• Strong communication and storytelling skills, utilizing data to tell a story

• Working knowledge of Netsuite, Salesforce.com, or similar CRM/ERP system

• Proficient with MS PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook

• Strong attention to detail with a passion for data, data quality & business analytics

• Fast learner with an appetite for continued improvement

• Team spirit, excellent interpersonal skills, and a customer service orientation

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Nice to have, but not required:

• Dbt experience
