Rapid7 is seeking an experienced Director of Real Estate and Workplace Experience Operations to drive global processes, planning, and execution across our real estate portfolio and workplace operations.This role requires a strategic thinker who also understands day-to-day operational execution at both local and global levels.

About the Role
As a key partner and direct report to the VP of Real Estate & Workplace Experience, the Director of Real Estate and Workplace Experience Operations will lead portfolio and operational metrics and reporting management, develop data-driven business cases, and implement solutions that enhance culture, efficiency, and productivity. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in corporate real estate, facilities management, and employee experience, aligning internal and external resources to optimize our footprint and integrate industry best practices.
In this role, you will:
Partner closely with the VP of Real Estate & Workplace Experience to develop and execute the global real estate strategy, manage the full portfolio lifecycle (site selection, leasing/acquisition, disposition, space utilization, and optimization), and help drive complex lease negotiations with brokers, landlords, and external partners.
Oversee capital expenditure processes and planning and provide guidance on budgeting for all real estate projects, including new construction, renovations, and tenant improvements.
Support a consistent, high-quality global workplace experience through establishing daily facilities operations rigor, including areas of maintenance, security, janitorial services, core building systems, and vendor management.
Lead a small team responsible for strategic real estate portfolio management and execution.
Develop process planning and metrics/reporting on key workplace programs (food and beverage, transportation, amenities, space planning) and drive continuous improvement in facilities performance and employee satisfaction.
Manage the annual operating budget while implementing global standards, policies, and procedures across real estate, facilities, and workplace services.
Lead and mentor a high-performing team and oversee the adoption of smart building technologies and workplace systems to improve efficiency and data-driven decision-making.
Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and building regulations while developing and managing business continuity and emergency response plans in partnership with cross-functional teams.
The skills you’ll bring include:
Team-oriented and highly collaborative leader with 7+ years experience managing corporate real estate and facilities/workplace across global and international markets, including negotiation, communication, and presentation excellence.
Ability to develop comprehensive “stay vs. move” business cases by evaluating financial, operational, and strategic implications for each location.
Strong competency in interpreting and managing commercial leases, including awareness of critical dates, restoration obligations, and landlord approval processes for construction or subletting.
Excellent communication and change-management skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and guide teams through transitions.
Strong financial acumen, including the ability to analyze costs, model scenarios, and support data-driven decision-making.

The salary range for this role in the US is:
$166,600.00 - 225,400.00 USD AnnualSalary ranges may vary based on geographical location. This range does not include variable/incentive compensation, equity and benefits (where applicable/eligible).
