Rapid7’s incident response consultants respond to major breaches for all Rapid7 customers and are integrated into Rapid7’s MDR service, delivering unlimited incident response for our managed customers. Our incident response consultants pride themselves on their ability to orchestrate and deliver effective outcomes for our customers in their greatest times of need.
About the Role
As a Manager of Incident Response on Rapid7’s Detection & Response Services team, you will lead a group of professional, high-performing incident response consultants responsible for guiding customers through impactful security incidents and delivering high value proactive service engagements.
In this role, you will:
Serve as manager for a group of global incident response consultants that support Rapid7’s MDR and IR service customers
Provide guidance, goals, and mentorship to a team of world-class incident responders in a 24x7 setting
Tactical planning and execution of Rapid7’s strategic vision for incident response
Mature Rapid7’s existing incident response methodologies, metrics, and procedures
Assist with scoping of reactive and proactive incident response service engagements
Monitor multiple concurrent investigations, deliver real-time feedback and coaching
Maintain on call rotations to ensure 24x7x365 coverage incident response coverage
Collaborate with leaders across the organization to improve products and services within Rapid7’s detection and response practice
Promote healthy, positive work habits and environments to reduce fatigue, providing a quality work/life balance for incident response professionals
The skills you’ll bring include:
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, CIS or related field, or equivalent professional experience
5+ years in an incident response consulting, managed detection and response, or professional service delivery role.
Up-to-date knowledge of attacker techniques, tools, and procedures
Experience with common cybersecurity tools and investigation techniques.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Differentiators:
1+ years of people management or team lead experience, preferably in an incident response, managed detection and response, or services role
5+ years of enterprise internal security experience
Prior managed service or MDR experience
Prior SOC management experience
Experience working with breach counsel and cyber insurance panels
Experience with Rapid7 products or services
