Sales Manager - India

Rapid7 is looking for a hands on, front line Sales Manager to lead a small team whilst also carrying a full individual quota and directly contributing to revenue growth. You will be responsible for managing the northern India territory with your team focussed on the West and Southern regions. You will own the full sales lifecycle — from generating initial interest to closing deals — while developing and executing a strategic go-to-market plan that includes both direct sales and channel partnerships. About the Team

Rapid7 recently announced the expansion of our business in India with the opening of our first office and Secure Operations Centre (SOC) in Pune. The ambition is to grow this office to 200+ employees within the first 12 months of operation. 

Our Indian Sales organisation serves as a strategic partner for our customers, helping them achieve a more secure digital future. By leveraging the full value of our product portfolio our Sales teams create relevant solutions to meet our customers needs and keep them secure.  Your team will be supported by Sales Engineers, Product Specialists, Product Managers and Customer Success teams, all with the collective goal of best serving our Indian customer base with best-in-class Cybersecurity solutions and services.

About The Role

You will report directly to the GM of APJ and collaborate closely with the APJ Leadership Team and key stakeholders to define and execute the regional Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy. Partnering with Marketing, Channel, and Customer Success teams, you will drive the successful execution of this strategy, balancing both individual contributor responsibilities and the leadership of the sales team across the Indian territories. As a Thought Leader and spokesperson, you will represent Rapid7 both internally and externally, engaging with the cybersecurity industry and partner community to drive our vision forward.

In this role, you will:

  • Inspire and manage an existing team of remote Account Executives while continuing to build our Northern Region Territory

  • Partner with the Go-to-Market leadership team as well as cross-functionally across other departments within Rapid7 to create the ultimate end-to-end customer experience

  • Creatively source new prospects and thoughtfully position Rapid7's offerings to meet their needs

  • Close large enterprise software deals leveraging internal and external partnerships

  • Establish individual and team budgets, quotas, activity metrics, and forecasts to support company business objectives 

  • Identify and create development learning tracks with each member of the team

  • Become a trusted advisor with prospects and customers, building credibility and trust, with the willingness to travel to meet with customers and partners across India

  • Foster a positive environment of collaboration and professional growth

The skills you’ll bring include:

  • 10+ years of sales and high ARR growth experience within a software or technology company preferably within cyber security or SAAS solution/SAAS platform with a strong understanding and experience of selling within a channel focused business

  • 5+ years of Sales management experience with a proven track record in building and developing high performing, diverse and engaged teams to deliver phenomenal results in a matrix environment where cross-functional teamwork is key to success 

  • Proven success in pioneering evangelical sales within a traditional industry to drive market evolution and uncover emerging customer needs

  • Direct SaaS sales background, with recurring subscription revenue models

  • Proven ability to position multiple product and technology solutions to solve business problems; experience in the Security, Cloud, or IT ecosystem beneficial

  • History of coaching and developing employees & leading through change

  • A natural ability to build strong relationships to ensure growth by leveraging channel partners and the broader security community
