Senior Manager, People Strategy

We are looking for a creative, growth minded, collaborative, and people-focused individual to join our People Strategy team. This role was created both to support our ongoing expansion efforts in Prague, and also to play a key role in leading our broader People Strategy efforts throughout Rapid7. You will help us implement and improve people programs with a shared goal of creating incredible experiences for our people, while supporting our growth and the achievement of Rapid7's business goals, both locally in Prague and beyond.

About the role

The Senior Manager, People Strategy reports to the Senior Director, People Strategy, and will be based in our offices in Prague. You will partner with leaders across the business to tackle day to day people issues and build performance management and talent development programs. It's not just what you are contributing that's important to our people - it's HOW you do it.

You will be the people expert, working closely with leaders as they work on growing and developing their teams.

You will be the people expert, working closely with leaders as they work on growing and developing their teams. Specifically, your focus will be to: 

  • Managing and leading a team of People Strategists, you will support defined business organisations, working to optimise the employee experience through our People Strategy initiatives and programs. 

  • You will play a key role in helping lead the culture and experience of our staff in Prague as we continue to build our growing presence in Czechia.

  • You will lead, mentor and develop your team of People Strategists to manage the day to day people needs of our business. 

  • You will partner with leaders to proactively diagnose and communicate trends around people and team issues (ie engagement, retention, collaboration) and support the development of solutions to address them

  • You will act as a coach and partner to managers and leaders to strengthen and support their skills in performance coaching, handling difficult conversations, get well plans and other employee-focused challenges. 

  • You will partner with the People Strategy leadership team to drive the execution of the employee lifecycle - including performance management, merit and bonus planning, promotions, internal transfers as well as conduct exit interviews and terminations.  

  • You will deliver with a consistent focus on building a high-performing culture of growth and development through effective leadership, communication and feedback.

  • Working with the with global People Strategy team and business leaders, you will ensure that employee initiatives are in line with and reinforce our company's culture and core values

  • Your onboarding and expectations within the first six months will involve establishing  relationships across the People Strategy teams and leadership teams globally.Your goal is to build a solid understanding of our company goals, team and regional goals and a strong perspective on how to connect and drive our people to success through this new experience. 

The skills and qualities you’ll bring include:

  • Prior experience in People Strategy / HR, Organisational Development, Talent Consulting or a related field in a Manager / Senior Manager role

  • Preferably educated to degree level (or equivalent)

  • You are an amazing communicator, able to effectively work with discretion and sensitivity across all levels of the business

  • A natural influencer. People are comfortable around you, want to follow your lead and hear your perspective

  • A delicate balance of business acumen, empathy, relationship building, and courageous dialogue with unquestionable integrity. 

  • Approaches challenges with a learning mindset - you are not afraid to try something different and learn from your mistakes

  • You are passionate about understanding and optimising the day to day experience of our people,  and are there to help guide our employees through their journey

  • You are approachable, and always eager to help with strong cross-functional collaboration skills, and the ability to influence and align with stakeholders across Talent Acquisition, People Strategy, and business leadership.
