Senior Manager, Public Relations & Corporate Communications

Rapid7 is looking for a Senior Manager of Public Relations & Corporate Communications to help build and scale a communications and thought leadership engine that drives market trust, credibility, and influence at global scale. This role will lead Rapid7’s global public relations function, owning earned media strategy and executive visibility to ensure Rapid7 is not only present in the market, but shaping the conversations that matter.

About the Role

As Senior Manager of Public Relations & Corporate Communications, your primary responsibility will be to translate Rapid7’s narrative into stories that break through. You will anticipate and respond to moments in the market with strong judgment and clarity, ensuring Rapid7’s point of view is consistently validated across the broader cybersecurity ecosystem. Reporting directly into the Director, Corporate Communications at Rapid7.

You’ll partner closely with Product Marketing, Threat Intelligence, Customer Marketing, and Executive Leadership to turn Rapid7’s expertise into differentiated market influence. Success in this role means Rapid7 is consistently present in the right conversations with the right audiences, and our narrative is reinforced by trusted voices across media, influencers, analysts, practitioners, and customers. Your work will elevate Rapid7’s executives and experts as authoritative voices in cybersecurity, meaningfully increasing understanding of our value proposition and building consistent trust in our expertise. Specifically, your focus will be to:

  • Lead PR Strategy: Own Rapid7’s global PR strategy to drive sustained market attention, strengthen category influence, and reinforce Rapid7’s position in key industry conversations

  • Elevate Executive & Expert Visibility: Build and scale external platforms that position Rapid7 executives, practitioners, customer voices, and Threat Research teams as trusted contributors to key cybersecurity conversations. Develop threat research communications programs, editorial calendars, and data-driven storytelling strategies that elevate Rapid7 Labs as an authoritative voice in the market.

  • Drive Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner across Brand, Product Marketing, Demand Gen, Customer Marketing, Social, and Digital teams to ensure communications and PR are part of the full-funnel influence strategy 

  • Navigate Issues & Corporate Communications: Support corporate communications, including internal messaging and key company moments, help develop frameworks for issues management and crisis communications

  • Define & Measure Impact: Define and track communications performance through metrics including share of voice, message pull-through, sentiment, and executive visibility

The skills and qualities you’ll bring include:

  • 7-10+ years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, or related roles within B2B technology (cybersecurity or AI strongly preferred)

  • Proven experience owning PR strategy and driving measurable earned media impact

  • Strong relationships with business, technology, and cybersecurity media

  • Experience managing global PR agencies and scaling programs

  • Exceptional storytelling and writing skills across formats (press, bylines, executive messaging)

  • Ability to operate as a strategic advisor to senior leaders

  • Experience working cross-functionally in fast-paced, high-growth environments

  • Strong judgment, especially in ambiguous or high-stakes situations

We evaluate compensation decisions on a case-by-case basis, and it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the very top of the salary range.

The salary range for this role in the US is:

$151,300.00 - 204,700.00 USD Annual

Salary ranges may vary based on geographical location. This range does not include variable/incentive compensation, equity and benefits (where applicable/eligible).
