Senior Software Engineer (Backend) - InsightConnect - SOAR

We are expanding our Global footprint in Prague and as we build out our Product & Engineering teams, we are looking for Software Engineers.
 

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will own a full life cycle of development and be a senior contributor on a team responsible for the end-to-end delivery of increasingly complex features that are correctly implemented and high quality.

You will take initiative to identify and own solutions to problems, and you will partner with cross-functional teams owning requirements that take into account all parties’ needs. You will act as a resource by advising and mentoring junior engineers to continue to build the technical capabilities of our teams.
 

The modern world faces many security challenges. As cyberattacks become more sophisticated, it has never been more important for our security professionals to be freed from rudimentary and recurring manual tasks and allowed to focus on complex threats. This is where InsightConnect steps in.

InsightConnect is Rapid7’s Security Orchestration, Automation and Response product (SOAR). It represents a significant investment in the Insight platform and will automate the response to high volume alerts and threats across every Insight product.

Requirements

  • Golang (proficient)

  • AWS (familiarity)

  • Kubernetes (from a service-owner perspective)

  • Microservices architecture (familiarity) 

  • An attitude to thrive in a high-growth, evolving environment.

  • Strong customer focus on building and shipping software solutions that solve problems.
     

Responsibilities

  • Work with technologies such as Go, Postgres, Redis, Kubernetes, Terraform and AWS

  • Be involved in building, maintaining, and releasing all our services

  • Help to shape and define our standards and best practices.

  • Be heavily involved in the design and planning of upcoming features

  • Propose and implement ways to repay technical debt and improve our product

  • Participate in the on-call rotation

  • Work with an embedded UX team and a Product Manager, who work deeply with our product to understand the customers needs.

  • Be excited to learn, and motivated to teach.
