Rapid7 is looking for a Software Engineer to join our expanding Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) practice in Tampa. FL. This would present an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to learn and develop their skills, whilst having a major impact on the future of our Platform Case Management product that will increase the operational efficiency through automation and grow as an integral part of Rapid7's security operations platform and overall expansion strategy.
The SOAR practice builds and maintains the InsightConnect Product. InsightConnect is a cloud-based, Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) tool that enables the automation of security use cases across the Rapid7 Platform. The SOAR team is embarking on a new journey to build a Platform Case Management product that will help security teams realize an effective systematic method of handling security work across their whole environment that arises from all of the information and intelligence at their disposal—and track, confirm, and collaborate on its proper resolution to ensure all security gaps are closed to the acceptable level of risk.
In the role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day development of the services and infrastructure that will power the Platform Case Management product. You will be working on the Java-based applications (frameworks include Spring and Springboot) that are deployed in the Kubernetes cluster in AWS. The team uses Terraform to describe the modern infrastructure that includes services like AWS Core services like SQS, SNS, RDS, EKS, ElastiCache, and S3.
Work on a platform product that will be the engine that enables security engineers to track and collaborate across the Insight Platform.
Building, maintaining, releasing, and monitoring various backend services that will serve 10,000+ customers with millions of requests/minute.
Be heavily involved in the design of upcoming features, as we expect our engineers to be first-class stakeholders in all parts of the development process.
Gain experience and exposure to a wide range of technologies, products, and development processes
Learn and grow your skills in architecting and designing scalable cloud software as our product constantly evolves
Minimum of 3 years experience in agile software development using Java.
A demonstrable passion for the craft of software development
Comfort with tools such as GitHub and Maven for building, storing, and reviewing code
A history demonstrating a team-based approach to problem-solving
A strong sense of ownership and responsibility for the quality of the software you create
Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple ongoing projects and tasks at once.
