We’re currently looking for a JavaScript Engineer that is passionate about making an impact and helping build the next big thing in security, InsightAppSec.

About the Team

The Belfast-based team focuses on how JavaScript works primarily on building and improving our scan capabilities for customer websites using Chrome plugins, nodeJS and headless browsing.

In order to identify security issues, we need to automatically authenticate, crawl and analyze customer websites - as a developer, this means working with, and understanding the latest frameworks and technologies, and developing innovative solutions to allow us to interact with their websites.

About the Role

If you understand or are curious about how the internet and web technologies work, this is the ideal role for you. In order to identify security vulnerabilities,  your code will have to analyze and interact with customer sites, each of which is unique. 

In this role, you will:

• Collaborate with Product leads to develop and improve crawling and authentication.

• Help define, design, implement, and test APIs and features.

• Help lead research and development efforts to ensure continual innovation 

• Participate in code reviews.

• Mentor junior developers and peers.

The skills you’ll bring include:

• 2-5 years of experience as a software developer.

• A deep understanding of the features and best practices of vanilla JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and one or more modern frontend frameworks.

• Experience working with back end engineers to integrate with web server APIs.

• Experience writing Chrome browser extensions.

• Basic knowledge of website paradigms, such as, SPA and PWA.

• Basic understanding of cloud computing technologies and container-based technologies.

• Ability to self-direct, highly motivated, collaborative, high-energy and diligent work ethic.
