Systems Administrator
Job Summary
We’re looking for an experienced Systems Administrator to help manage and scale our growing hybrid infrastructure. In this role, you’ll support and secure multi-cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), manage Windows, macOS, and Chrome OS endpoints, and maintain on-prem and cloud-based Windows/Linux servers. You’ll also administer core SaaS and IAM systems like Entra ID, Okta, Active Directory, Google Workspace, and Zoom to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance across our environment.
About the Team
The Systems Engineering team is responsible for maintaining the stability, scalability, and security of Rapid7’s global IT infrastructure. We collaborate closely with Network Engineering, Information Security, and Project Management to deliver secure, efficient, and resilient technology solutions that power the business.
About the Role
As a Systems Administrator, your primary responsibility will be to support, secure, and enhance our hybrid infrastructure and identity ecosystem. Specifically, your focus will be to:
Manage and secure endpoints across Windows, macOS, and Chrome OS using modern MDM platforms (Workspace ONE, Jamf, Google Admin Console, Automox).
Administer IAM and SaaS platforms including Entra ID, Okta, Active Directory, Google Workspace, Slack, and Zoom.
Administer and optimize cloud and server infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and Azure environments.
Lead patch management, vulnerability remediation, and compliance enforcement across servers and endpoints.
Serve as the Level 3 escalation point for complex end-user and infrastructure incidents.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Network, InfoSec, and PMO teams to scope, plan, and deliver infrastructure initiatives.
Maintain documentation, standard operating procedures, and technical runbooks.
Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation supporting mission-critical systems.
The skills and qualities you’ll bring include:
Proven experience managing hybrid and multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
Strong background in Windows Server and Linux administration.
Expertise in endpoint management (Windows, macOS, Chrome OS) using MDM solutions.
Proficiency in SaaS and IAM administration (Okta, Entra ID, Active Directory).
Familiarity with patching workflows, vulnerability management, and system hardening.
Strong collaboration and communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Scripting and automation experience (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
Understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Puppet, etc.).
Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills.
Continuous improvement mindset and passion for innovation.
We have ambitious goals and need people that are dynamic, desire to be part of something greater than they are, and are passionate about having secure technology. You have a chance to be part of a company that is changing how people think about IT and security. Your creativity will be highly valued and your nerdiness will seem normal. If you want a place where you can grow and make an impact, this is it.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, national origin, disability, protected veteran status or any other status protected by applicable national, federal, state or local law.
Security and Compliance
Rapid7 is committed to keeping customers secure. As a first line of defense, all employees are expected to uphold the highest standards of security and privacy, ensuring the protection of sensitive information and compliance with relevant regulations.
