Job Summary

 We’re looking for an experienced Workplace Facilities Manager to independently manage and optimize the operations of Rapid7’s Boston HQ. You’ll ensure the facility is safe, efficient, and welcoming for employees and guests, while serving as the subject matter expert for all facilities-related matters. Your leadership, technical expertise, and ability to solve problems will directly contribute to maintaining a world-class workplace experience.

About the Role

As Workplace Facilities Manager, you will:

  • Independently manage the daily operations at our Boston HQ, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency

  • Serve as Boston HQ’s subject matter expert while providing guidance and direction to team members and contractors on facilities operations

  • Liaise with building management, janitorial staff, and security to maintain service quality

  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with local leadership and cross-collaborative partners to ensure strong engagement and alignment to business goals

  • Oversee workplace technology and applications (security systems, desk booking, service tickets, occupancy tools, etc)

  • Manage new and existing facility vendor relationships for maintenance, repairs, and services

  • Lead facilities management processes including preventive maintenance, repairs, life safety and emergency preparedness, and EH&S initiatives

  • Support events and customer visits, aligning with Rapid7 culture

  • Manage space planning and MACs (moves-adds-changes) to optimize office performance and utilization

  • Demonstrate fiscal responsibility by overseeing local OpEx budget, including site services, utilities, CAM, R&M, and other non-rent costs

  • Analyze operations to proactively solve complex facilities issues without precedent

  • Contribute to global initiatives that further the Workplace team and overall business objectives

The skills and qualities you’ll bring include:

  • Strong knowledge of Building Management Systems, MEP systems, and union labor requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal skills—approachable, collaborative, and highly responsive

  • Clear, professional communication in person and in writing (email, Slack, etc.)

  • Analytical abilities with the skill to use data for storytelling and decision-making

  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

  • Proactive, ownership-driven work ethic and willingness to take initiative

  • Ability to work independently while fostering team collaboration

  • Experience with Google Workspace; familiarity with OfficeSpace, Brivo, or VergeSense preferred

  • Facilities Management certification (CFM or other IFMA credential) preferred

  • Knowledge of occupancy and service metrics for data-driven facility management
