About the Team
The AI Center of Excellence team includes Data Scientists and AI Engineers that work together to conduct research, build prototypes, design features and build production AI components and systems. Our mission is to leverage the best available technology to protect our customers' attack surfaces. We partner closely with Detection and Response teams, including our MDR service, to leverage AI/ML for enhanced customer security and threat detection. We operate with a creative, iterative approach, building on 20+ years of threat analysis and a growing patent portfolio. We foster a collaborative environment, sharing knowledge, developing internal learning, and encouraging research publication. We use:
Python for analysis and modeling, taking advantage of numpy and pandas for data wrangling.
Jupyter notebooks (locally and remotely hosted) as a computational environment
Sci-kit learn for building machine learning models
Anomaly detection methods to make sense of unlabeled data
AWS for hosting our research environments, data, POCs and features
EKS to deploy applications
Terraform to manage infrastructure
About the Role
As a Manager in the AI Center of Excellence you will be building and leading a team of Data Scientists and AI Engineers to conduct research into new security detections, enhancing existing models that power product features, and identifying new areas of opportunity. First and foremost, you will coach and grow the individuals on your team so they feel supported and engaged. You will work closely with our product and engineering teams to transform this research and these proofs of concept into shipped and deployed product features.
In this role, you will:
Work with local talent acquisition partners to hire a team of skilled Data Scientists and AI Engineers
Plan and prioritize the team’s cutting-edge research & projects, working closely with Product Management to coordinate and execute on engineering roadmaps
Actively track progress on roadmap goals, proactively identifying & communicating potential delays or issues
Take an active role in the career development of your team members
Connect the members of your team to members of the wider AI Center of Excellence team, as well as to members of other supporting teams, when problems arise
Keep your security knowledge and data analysis skills up to date and in line with the work your team is doing
The skills you’ll bring include:
10+ years experience working within Software Engineering or Data Science including 3+ years experience in managing engaged and high performing teams with a track record in developing and mentoring software engineers at all levels
Strong cross-functional skills, with the ability and desire to build relationships with other teams including Product Management, UX and engineering teams to achieve broader company objectives
Experience with managing multiple, high-impact projects and delivering on schedule
Experience working with remote teams and individuals while ensuring agility and velocity
A strong sense of ownership and responsibility for the quality of the work your team produces
A customer centric approach with the ability to drive that throughout your teams, understanding the customers needs and drivers and putting the customer at the forefront of all decision making
Ability to manage through high-intensity situations when they arise
Experience with the following would be advantageous:
Relevant experience in predictive modeling, anomaly detection, including recent Python experience with an ability to work independently with minimal guidance
Expertise with tools such as Jupyter, pandas, sci-kit learn, git, Sagemaker and AWS services
Experience in the security industry
Experience building data science pipelines at scale (in AWS)
Shipped, managed, and improved models in production
Experience building engineering teams from the ground up
