About the Role

The Procurement Manager at Rapid7 will lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies for both indirect and direct procurement categories. This role focuses on optimizing procurement processes, reducing costs, and managing vendor relationships to support the strategic needs of Rapid7.

Responsibilities

- Lead the strategic development and execution of sourcing strategies for key procurement categories.
- Analyze spending patterns to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements.
- Establish and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with vendors to ensure favorable conditions that align with Rapid7’s objectives.
- Monitor market trends to anticipate changes affecting supply and pricing.
- Manage and oversee the contract repository, ensuring all contractual agreements are current and accurately documented.
- Lead spot buying initiatives to secure the best possible terms on short-term needs.
- Maintain and update product catalogs and manage the procurement intake workflow to ensure efficient procurement operations.
- Support the development and implementation of the 'Ask Procurement' program, which is responsible for responding to internal procurement-related inquiries and fostering a knowledgeable procurement environment.
- Utilize procurement tools effectively to maximize efficiency and transparency in procurement processes.
- Provide detailed reports on procurement metrics, savings, and vendor performance to leadership and stakeholders.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement strategies and operations.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field. An MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) is preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with a strong background in strategy development and vendor negotiations.
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Proven capability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficient in procurement software and tools.
