Project Manager

We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Platform Foundations team. In this role, you will drive key projects that support our strategic standards and operational efficiency. You'll ensure projects are executed effectively and that the team can deliver scalable outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

About the Team​
The Platform Foundations team builds and maintains the core infrastructure that powers Rapid7’s platform. We enable scalability, reliability, and seamless integration across products by developing shared services, tooling, and standards that empower our engineers to deliver secure and efficient solutions.

About the Role

As a Project Manager, your primary responsibility will be to lead projects end-to-end, ensuring alignment with best practices, cross-team collaboration, and timely, high-quality delivery. You’ll drive transparency, manage risks, and continuously improve project efficiency. Specifically, your focus will be to: 

• Lead and coordinate platform projects from initiation to delivery, ensuring they align with established best practices.

• Maintain strong project hygiene by managing ticket status, tracking progress, and resolving issues in a timely manner.

• Partner with engineering, product, and operational teams to define and achieve project objectives.

• Identify potential blockers early, communicate risks, and ensure mitigation plans are in place.

• Proactively identify opportunities to improve delivery processes and enhance cross-team efficiency.

• Provide consistent, honest communication on project status, outcomes, and lessons learned to key stakeholders.

• Take ownership of project outcomes while empowering contributors; anticipate opportunities to strengthen processes, elevate collaboration, and add value across the project and team.

• Proven ability to lead multiple concurrent projects and manage cross-functional alignment.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; transparent and solution-oriented when addressing challenges.

• Takes initiative, operates independently, and drives progress without heavy oversight.

• Builds trust and positive relationships across technical and non-technical teams.

• Experience managing projects within software engineering or platform environments.

• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies; experience facilitating standups, retrospectives, and sprint planning.

• Strong experience with Jira, Confluence, and project tracking tools; comfortable with dashboards and reporting.

• Skilled at anticipating challenges and managing dependencies across workstreams.

• Adept at tracking KPIs, maintaining documentation, and enforcing project hygiene.

• Ability to evaluate and refine workflows for efficiency and scalability.

• Data-driven approach to prioritization, measurement, and decision-making.

• Thrives in a dynamic environment, adjusting plans and approaches as business needs evolve.
