Proposal Manager
The Proposal Manager is responsible for formulating clear and compelling responses, acquiring content from SMEs and team members as needed, translating content and client needs into effective messaging, and ensuring that all submission requirements are met. You’ll work closely with Go to Customer leadership to ensure that our processes are working effectively and efficiently, sharing relevant data and trends and implementing improvements as required.
You will also play a key role in contributing to the maintenance and expansion of our product and services reference content libraries, identifying areas for growth and new content for use both by Proposal Strategy in proposals and company-wide in a self-service capacity.

In this role you will:
Lead RFP response creation efforts and serve as the primary point of contact for your customer-facing teams
Perform intake and evaluation of submitted RFPs; work with cross-functional response teams to make go/no-go decisions and determine the best response approach for each customer
Provide end-to-end proposal management support from receipt to submission; maintain clear and effective communication with stakeholders to clarify expectations, communicate roles and responsibilities, and ensure timely delivery of responses to customers and prospects
Generate draft proposals in response to customer requirements; work closely with cross-functional subject matter experts to complete all required proposal sections; edit to ensure grammatical and technical accuracy as well as consistent messaging throughout the proposal
Make data-driven recommendations based on proposal outcome metrics (win/loss) to contribute to the evolution of proposal strategy, including competitive analysis and win theme development; effectively communicate any learnings and strategic guidance to stakeholders
Proactively identify and facilitate opportunities for continuous learning, team building, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration
Develop and maintain a broad understanding of Rapid7’s complete portfolio of products and services
The skills you’ll bring include:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience and 5+ years of professional experience required; degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business or related field preferred
APMP Certification is preferred but not required
Experience or strong interest in cybersecurity preferred
A proven ability in planning, producing, and delivering compliant and compelling proposals
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational, time, and project management skills–ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines
Ability to work well independently and collaborate with distributed cross-functional teams
Ability to partner well with stakeholders across multiple internal functions, primarily Go to Customer, Solutions Engineering, Consulting teams, Information Security, Customer Success, and Legal
Strong knowledge of MS Office required; experience with Salesforce and Proposal Automation tools preferred
Demonstrate a Never Done approach to personal and professional growth and an eagerness and ability to learn
