Senior Project Manager - IT PMO
Rapid7 is seeking a seasoned Senior IT Project Manager to join our IT PMO team with a focus on infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for leading and managing assigned projects including large-scale infrastructure initiatives, such as network upgrades, data center migrations, and cloud integration, from inception to completion. The Senior IT Project Manager will coordinate across departments, manage resources, and communicate with stakeholders to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to high standards of quality.
About the Role
In this role, you will:
Project Planning: Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
Execution and Monitoring: Lead project execution per the project plan, continuously monitoring progress and making adjustments to ensure successful completion. Ensure deliverables meet all specified quality and compliance standards.
Resource Management: Allocate project resources appropriately and ensure they are used efficiently.
Budget Management: Develop and monitor the project budget, ensuring the project remains within financial constraints.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and devise contingency plans to manage them effectively.
Stakeholder Communication: Maintain regular communication with all stakeholders, including team members, management, and external partners, to keep them informed of project progress and potential issues.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, reports, and budgets.
Team Leadership: Foster collaboration and accountability within project teams, ensuring alignment on project goals and technical standards.
The skills you’ll bring include:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
8+ years of project management experience, specifically managing complex IT infrastructure projects (e.g., network architecture, cloud migrations, data center operations).
Strong understanding of infrastructure elements, including servers, networking, storage, cloud services, and security protocols.
Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and proficiency in project management software tools.
Excellent organizational and decision-making skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and under pressure.
Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
Proficiency in analyzing project metrics and data for informed decision-making.
PMP, PgMP, or similar project/program management certification is strongly preferred.
