About the Team
The Exposure Command team is a newly established, cross-functional engineering group within Rapid7, focused on building unified, data-rich exposure management experiences. This team is central to enabling customers to prioritize and act on security insights across all of their tools and technologies from a single intuitive and integrated interface. It is an exciting opportunity to shape foundational capabilities that will integrate and drive value throughout our platform.
About the Role
As Engineering Manager for the Exposure Command team, you will play a critical leadership role in a team that is central to Rapid7’s product vision. You will be responsible for leading a team of engineers, managing the day-to-day operations, and ensuring the delivery of high-impact features that unify and elevate the reporting experience across the platform.
You will support and coach your team, facilitate effective cross-functional collaboration, and ensure alignment with product and design partners. Your leadership will help us deliver customer-centric, scalable, and high-quality solutions.
Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team by providing regular coaching, feedback, and career development support.
Oversee day-to-day project execution, ensuring timely delivery of technical solutions and maintaining alignment with product roadmaps.
Facilitate collaboration across UX, product management, and engineering to deliver cohesive, customer-focused features.
Drive improvements in engineering quality by promoting best practices in testing, monitoring, performance and alerting.
Act as a key liaison between stakeholders, ensuring transparency, progress tracking, and effective communication across teams.

Proven success working with product managers, UX designers, and other engineering teams to deliver cohesive and customer-focused solutions.
Project and Delivery Management
Experience in managing technical project delivery within agile environments, using JIRA to track progress. As well as leading architectural discussions, and technical design sessions to define solutions and communicating status with stakeholders.

Strong understanding and application of engineering best practices such as automated testing, observability (monitoring/alerting), and CI/CD pipelines to ensure robust, scalable systems.
