At Rapid7, we translate high-priority strategic vision into operational realities that keep a $1B+ enterprise moving forward. We are seeking a Strategy & Transformation Analyst to conduct rigorous strategic and financial analysis, evaluate M&A opportunities, and act as a strategic partner to leaders across the business.

About the Team

The Transformation team is a newly created group positioned to work directly alongside executive leadership and across all areas of the business. Acting as the bridge between strategic planning and high-impact execution, the team is dedicated to driving key corporate strategy and transformational initiatives that shape the future of our organization.

About the Role

As a Strategy & Transformation Analyst, your primary responsibility will be to drive corporate strategy, evaluate market opportunities, and support M&A execution.

  • Serve as a strategic partner to business leaders on critical topics including product strategies, market entry, competitive positioning, operational improvement, and customer opportunity capture.

  • Create complex financial models to evaluate strategic scenarios and conduct valuation analyses using DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions, and sum-of-the-parts methodologies.

  • Evaluate potential targets, partners, and investments while helping prepare deal materials (teasers, info memos, management presentations, term sheets).

  • Support due diligence by coordinating with cross-functional teams to identify risks and opportunities.

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to assess industry trends, track deal activity, and evaluate the financial performance of peer companies and adjacent sectors.

  • Synthesize complex findings into executive-ready PowerPoint decks and presentation materials for strategic discussions with executive leadership and the Board.

  • Support the development and maintenance of Rapid7's annual and long-range strategic plans, helping align company priorities with market opportunities.

The skills and qualities you'll bring include

  • Bring 1.5–3+ years of investment banking, corporate development, or corporate strategy experience with a heavily quantitative background.

  • Demonstrate proven ability to build financial models from scratch and apply core valuation methodologies (DCF, comps, precedents) to evaluate corporate strategy bets and M&A opportunities.

  • Possess exceptional writing and presentation skills, with a track record of translating complex analyses into concise, executive-ready presentations to foster commitment from stakeholders.

  • Hold strong familiarity with M&A execution processes, due diligence, deal documentation, and competitive landscape analysis.

  • Demonstrate a deep interest in enterprise technology, SaaS metrics, deal activity, and how tech companies scale and transform.

  • Manage multiple parallel work streams independently by establishing ownership, clear expectations, and holding self and others responsible for driving outcomes.

  • Build a global network and work across boundaries with cross-functional business leaders to deliver sustainable improvements that create business and customer value.

  • Apply a strong understanding of self to adapt to group dynamics, leverage agility, and navigate complex strategic scenarios.

  • Embody our core values to foster a culture of excellence that drives meaningful impact and collective success.

We know that the best ideas and solutions come from multi-dimensional teams. That’s because these teams reflect a variety of backgrounds and professional experiences. If you are excited about this role and feel your experience can make an impact, please don’t be shy - apply today.
